The Plan

The Lost Farm is a micro-budget horror thriller, being produced by with a team highly experienced creatives and cast.

The changing landscape of Indie film has made it much harder to finance and distribute mid-budget indies.

So we are trying something new, raising the absolute minimum we need to make the film, keeping hte costs low, and sharing the rewards with everyone involved.

The sales and marketing strategy is to use our digital social media skills to build an audience throughout the film making process, and for the first release.

And only then, once we have a demonstatrable audience, market, and product, to approach more traditional routes to sales and distribution.

The script has been created to maximise audience engagement, whilst keeping expensive production elements to a minimum.

We have a small cast and we almost exclusively set in a single location -- the farm.

The script is both scary and intelligent allowing us to engage a wonderful calliber of actor -- see our awesome cast HERE.

We rarely see our monster, who, like the shark in Jaws, envolpes the world with a mysterious tension and dread, without being seen a lot. Thus reducing the need for time consuming and expensive effects. And when we do see him, he hides in shadows. We want this to feel real.

Why we can do it

Innovative fundraising

This project is built from the ground up.

We are deeply rooted to the location and community where the film is set. So local businesses and individuals are keen to contribute cash and resources to a project that enlivens the community and supports development of the creative arts in the region.

As well as direct support from generious backers and business, our friends at RK Giveaways are running raffles to help raise money from the general public. Not only does this give people an opportunity to support indie film, but gives them a chance to win instant prizes as well as a slice of the porfits if the film is a hit. See more about the raffle HERE.
